What is Layer3 (L3)
Layer3 is a blockchain platform designed to improve scalability and interoperability between different networks, allowing decentralised applications (dapps) to communicate without intermediaries. It adopts an omnichain approach, with particular attention to distribution, identity and incentives in a decentralised way.
A distinctive element is the “quest” system: educational Web3 challenges that let users learn and accumulate points by completing activities, from decentralised finance (DeFi) to building dapps. The Layer3 Foundation states it has already helped process over 120 million transactions.
The L3 token
The L3 token facilitates transactions and allows participation in the protocol’s governance, access to incentives and advanced features, and the creation of on-chain experiences. The decentralised governance mechanism is designed to align users’ interests with those of the ecosystem.
On the technical side, Layer3 uses Layer 2 solutions such as rollups and state channels to run fast and efficient transactions between different blockchains, while maintaining the security of the underlying networks.

Like all crypto-assets, L3 has shown a highly volatile price trend and is a relatively recent project. Its quotations can be influenced by the general trend of the crypto market, by platform adoption and by token-release schedules.
