Staking Pool
A staking pool is a set of crypto-assets staked jointly by several participants in order to take part in the validation of blocks on a Proof-of-Stake blockchain. By combining their crypto-assets, participants increase the probability of being selected as validators.
Any rewards distributed by the protocol are shared among the participants in proportion to the crypto-assets they have contributed. These rewards are not guaranteed; they vary depending on the protocol’s rules, the total amount staked, and network conditions.
A staking pool involves specific risks, including the possible temporary unavailability of the contributed crypto-assets, the possible penalties provided for by the protocol (slashing) and reliance on whoever manages the pool technically.
