What is Quant?

This is one of the first projects that attempts to solve the problem of interoperability between blockchain networks. It has a unique solution: Quant has created a real operating system that updates a shared and distributed ledger by interacting with various blockchains. This is Overledger, the core product of the Quant ecosystem. We can sum up Quant with the term “blockchain bridge”: an infrastructure that allows value and information to be transmitted between two blockchains that would otherwise be incompatible or isolated from each other.

Why follow Quant? 

The function of the QNT token is to cover the costs of using the Quant network. Anyone who wants to develop DApps on the platform needs an annual licence, paid for in QNT. The maximum availability of QNT tokens is 14,612,493: part of this was sold during the first ICO (9.9 million), another portion was reserved for the company (2.6 million), and finally, 1.3 million were allocated to the project’s founders. 

How was it created?

Quant was launched in June 2018, when interoperability was not a widespread concept in the crypto world. One of the founders is Gilbert Verdian, who apparently was enlightened while working in the healthcare sector. One of the problems he encountered during this experience was how to make patients’ data – and their medical records – available on multiple platforms. Another key member of the team is Paolo Tasca: blockchain expert and university professor, an important consultant on blockchain developments for the European Parliament. Today, Quant has high-profile partners and collaborates with Nvidia, Oracle and the Blockchain consortium.
