Relative Strength

Relative strength is a technical analysis concept that compares a crypto-asset’s performance with that of another asset or the overall market to assess its relative performance over a given period.

For example, one can measure the relative strength of a crypto-asset against Bitcoin or against the market capitalisation. Relative strength should be distinguished from the RSI (Relative Strength Index) indicator, which instead measures the speed of the price changes of a single asset. It is a descriptive parameter based on historical data and does not indicate future prices.
