Cold Staking
A type of staking in which coins or tokens are locked and stored in a cold wallet, i.e. a wallet not connected to the internet, as opposed to the classic staking method, in which deposits are made on online wallets or staking pools. Some blockchains allow their users to manage offline staking via cold staking, which is the preferred option in particular for staking large amounts of cryptocurrency.
Cold wallets are hardware or paper wallets, or offline applications suitable for storing cryptocurrencies that you do not want to trade in the short term. The security level of these wallets is very high and is recommended for people who hold large amounts of cryptocurrency that may be at greater risk of online cyber attacks. The security provided by cold wallets also applies to your stake, i.e. the total amount of cryptocurrencies you are staking.
